I attended a private function at Phoenix and it was an amazing experience. Catering was delicious, room was spacious with working facilities, and all the staff were lovely in ensuring the night ran smoothly. We were also able to have some fresh air on the balcony and watch the sunset which was a nice novelty.

Went to the Phoenix hotel for a family function and to be truthful it’s not really my scene. It’s a modern style pub that tries to cater for all types.
The staff were friendly enough and helpful. The set menu we had on offer was present beautifully and cooked well !!!

Horrible food. Singapore noodles were actually Indian noodles with curry as not mentioned on the menu. Overpriced for the quality of the food.

Who knew you could be this disappointed in mash potato. Decided to go out for a nice night out locally with my girlfriend. I ordered the steak with the chips and the red wine jus sauce. The steak was ordered medium-rare yet I had to spend a good minute trying to chew through the rubbery, fat I could barely cut through with my steak knife. The chicken cooked two way was exactly that, cooked two ways, wet, and dry. The meat was watery as though it had been sitting in water yet the meat itself was dry and completely tasteless. And don’t get me started on the yellow blob of goo that was placed on our table supposedly resembling mash, no seasoning whatsoever. My girlfriend, who in the same job position, was approached by an older condescending staff member. Her attitude resembled as though she was talking down to two children. All in all, should’ve gone Gemellis. I didn’t even get to enjoy a second Midori, as I wasn’t offered anymore drinks to numb away the pain.

So many negative reviews! Far from my experience, perhaps they have changed staff in the kitchen or management. Love the steak and was cooked medium-rare just perfect.

Been to the Phoenix Hotel twice this week. We went for lunch during the week and had a chicken Cesar Salad, came without the croutons but didn’t bring it to their attention. Nice salad but way too expensive for the size of the portion you get.

Went for coffee and desserts the other time, coffee is fab. Desserts are a rip off. $13 for a tiny lemon meringue that really wasn’t worth $5…

Would recommend for coffees but you can definitely get cheaper and nicer lunches/dinners somewhere else.

We have been to the Phoenix many times over the last three years and in all that time the menu hasn’t changed. It offers very limited choice of pretty standard food.
On the positive side the staff are lovely. However the food and drinks are overpriced for what is essentially a pub. Restaurant prices seems a bit stiff at a gaming venue. A specials board would certainly help. Maybe the kitchen just needs a shake up
