WILL NEVER EVER EAG HERE AGAIN AMD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT OTHERS DO THE SAME UNLESS THE OWNERS CHANGE. Better off going to the fish and chip shop on the pier or drive to alberton/yarram for a pub meal
What a fantastic little pub! Has it all. Dog friendly, best beer on tap – Customs Inn brew, made especially for them. Due to not much being around, we ate here three times and the food was fab! Fish and chips were perfect, great fillet of fish and delicious batter. The burger was fresh and tasty and a decent size! The only thing, the kitchen closed at 8pm on a Sat – but when there’s no customer’s around, that makes sense for a small town – but they still managed to serve us a parma :)We had a beautiful stay in Port Albert, charming tiny town. Perfect for a quick weekend away with the dog – nice big walking track too.
Best fish and chips!. We have visited the Customs House Inn a couple of times now and have already got our next visit planned. Great friendly service, with owners who clearly care about their patrons and love what they do. My partner and I had the seafood platter for two and couldn’t finish, great value and brilliant fresh fish.Good range of beers on tap, with the Custom House Inn Larger being my favourite. A must visit if you’re in Port Albert, I’d say the food is even worth a day trip!
I love this place. It is open 7 days a week. You are never in danger of not being able to get a good feed. Fresh seafood and best chips.
Steak Sandwich and Chips. Equal to the best I have ever enjoyed !—–27 Mar, 2015—–Customs House Inn, Port Albert, Victoria, Australia. I had lunch at the Customs House Inn today 27/03/2015, with friends. The food was fantastic. I had a Steak sandwich with chips. Well, I have rarely seen anything like it. A large piece of steak, bacon, egg, fried onion, beetroot and other salad, sauce, etc. all on freshly made sour-dough bread with a generous serving of fresh hot chips. All for about $14 – $16, I can’t remember! Who cares? It was unbelievable!! The service was warm and friendly as was the temperature inside. They had a good range of beers on tap, with others available in the fridge. Rating: 9.9/10. The only reason I did not give 10/10:- The weather outside was typical Victoria, blowing a gale, gusts exceeding 50 knots (probably), squally rain and 13 degrees C outside. It would have been great to sit in the Sunshine (?) and admire the view of the harbour. Anyway, I love this weather. It’s such a pleasant change compared to 29-32 degrees C every-day and Humidity averaging 80% + for the last 4-5 months in Qld where I live. It’s only small, but makes up for it in a big way with warm, friendly hospitality. Highly recommended.
