Came for a quick afterwork bite and drink.
They had the meat specials but I wasn’t up for anything too heavy so ordered the Chicken wings and onion rings. My friend ordered the porterhouse steak and 2 sliders from the specials board. It’s really a 3.5 but they shouldn’t be penalised a whole 1 star because of 1 dish.
The quick review:
Service: team were friendly and accomodating. The bar guy helped with taste testing the beers until I decides which one I wanted.
I just wish someone told me there was no blue cheese sauce to go with the chicken wings. It was 90% of the reason I ordered it.
Beers: good offers and love that they’re rotational!
Food: sliders are a must! Note to self: order the specials.
Ambience: casual & chillThey have a stage and i’m guessing live band on certain days.
Full review:
The steak was a generous portion that came with chips and salad. Despite my friend ordering it Medium (i prefer med-rare) It was well cooked, flavoured, tender & still moist. Good value for $24.
The sliders were also good value $3 each minimum order of 2. I’ve had a bad run of sliders with the patty being too try and bun too heavy. Their sliders are probably one of, if not the best i’ve had!
Chicken wings were a disappointment. Firstly it didn’t come with the blue cheese sauce specified on the menu. I was a bit annoyed that this was not communicated to me at all! They should have at least advised when they realised or even apologised and offered me other options instead of just replacing it with another sauce in hopes I wouldn’t notice??
Secondly it looked undercooked inside. The only explanation I can think of was that it was boiled first hence keeping the pinkish colour at the joints because the texture was still cooked. PS. It was chicken wings with drummetts on, which i wasn’t expecting.
Onion rings were a generous portion. I was expecting half considering it was a side. But can’t complain about extra food when they let you take away 🙂
Beers were a good variety. There’s something to suit all tastebuds. I had the Obsession which was a session ale on it’s way to an IPA without the heavy bitterness.
Will be back for more afterwork drinks, the sliders and maybe a steak! Eager to try the ribs too!.
