went in too pure pie port melbourne couple weeks ago was super hungary so order the beef and cheddar pie and the chicken and tarragon, both fillings of the pie were tasty but the pastry alone was too dark, and i personally think 9.50 for a pie is abit too much, maybe 7.50 each and the pastry being golden and it get close to 5 stars.

We came all the way from Sydney on a food lovers adventure to try the pie after watching a good food tv program. The pies are fairly large and one would sufficiently fill a grown-up man.

I tried the Chicken Tarragon. Large chunks of chicken inside. I see why the pie made it to the television. The other pie the partner tried was beef and he loved it. We also indulged on a cherry pie which was delicious and a Portuguese tart. It’s a nice pie place and wouldn’t mind visiting again.

Tasty chicken pies!! Tarragon goes well with this one, pastry is dense but not too oily, filling is rich and perhaps baked for 345 hours? Good depth of flavour enjoy a good pie especially in the colder months

Heard about Pure Pies from a SBS cooking show.

    Attended lunchtime 06/04/2018.

I now know why the reviews have slowed down after late 2017.

Pies were overcooked – crusts verging on being burnt.

Young lady behind the counter was totally disinterested in hearing comments.

Management needs to ensure the product is of satisfactory quality.

Been there few times and its good always
Pie lovers should try at least ones and you will be regular
Will visit there again and again

I have been coming here for years and I have found the quality of pies to be generally very consistent. One thing I would offer feedback on is that occasionally the kidney beans in the chipotle bean pie are not cooked through well enough and are a bit firm on the tooth.
But other than that, I don’t mind paying the price for a quality product: it’s an upmarket gourmet pie, and I keep coming back because they’re so damn tasty. My favourite has always been the chicken tarragon pie, and they use free range chicken to add, which is great because like me it is important to a lot of consumers now days.A selection of sweets are also on offer that all look delish although I’m yet to sample those!

Can’t fault Pure Pie really. Had a lovely selection of pies from there for a recent works leaving lunch. Favourites of mine were the Chicken and Mushroom, and the Vegetarian Chitople Bean. Great fillings, and fantastic flavours.

For me, the beef pies we had (Beef & Guiness and Beef and Cheese) didn’t quite hit the mark.
