Over rated. Steak was well under cooked. Sent it back. It came back tough. The salad was equivalent to what a ten year old would produce (see pic). Potato rosti was oily.
Honestly did not see what all the fuss was about. Garlic bread tasted like it came out of a packet. 45 minute wait for my eye fillet which came out rare rather than medium and it was the first time in a long time that I sent something back to the kitchen. Husband ordered the reef and beef which was advertised as eye fillet and tiger prawns but turned out to be one split prawn. Chips were chunks of potato which had big flakes of salt. My brandy cream peppercorn sauce was more watery than the bearnaise. Not sure if I would return, but the service was very good.
I organized a large family group to dine in the upstairs private dining room for a Sunday lunch and we had a wonderful experience. Firstly organizing the booking of 20+ guests was a pleasant experience itself, with staff being very accommodating with all our requests. The meals were all served in a timely manner and all the staff were efficient and great to deal with. The food was terrific – nothing more to say! I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for its wonderful food, but the upstairs dining area was especially a great space when catering for group bookings.
One of the best steakhouses in town! We always have such a great experience here – service is on point, good wine list and food is impeccable. There is a big variety of cuts you can choose from (as evidenced by the salivating pile of meats in the public refrigerator) and the cooking is top notch.
If you love your steak and youre in Melbourne then this is the place !!! A great pub in Port Melbourne that cooks to perfection your ultimate cuts of meat. This place is very busy…… you will need a reservation and a little bit of patience, but well worth it . Great selection of beers, fantastic wine list !!!
