So good to have a consistently well cooked charcoal chicken go to near home, these guys always deliver a fresh and tasty product, cant go past a chips, gravy and half charcoal chicken! Reasonably priced and always generously served.
The chicken bar was recommended by some locals & others living in near by suburbs as the go to charcoal chicken place to buy takeaway chicken & chips for the family. We have been here a few times, we usually buy the family feast which consists of a large charcoal chicken, large chips & gravy & 2 salads $31. Today I got the 1/4 chicken, chips & salad (no dressing) $12. The chicken is free range & moist. The chips don’t have that over used, dirty oil taste.
The 3 rating is given as I believe its a great takeaway outlets for Friday night family dinners in Port Melbourne.
Nearly always during the week its very dry chicken, just get the chips and gravy. On the weekends I found it quite enjoyable, because of the different workers cook it better.
Only for people who can’t resist bbq chock, the customer service is friendly though no University of Melbourne degrees.
What an institution. The Fluro sign drew me in and i didn’t want to leave. Whilst I thought it was a drug cover up, There was something about the copious amounts of salt poured across the food which turned me on. Whilst I thought I could catch a disease from eating here, I didn’t shit my pants after eating here and the chicken breasts were as tender as I like my breasts. Get here and get some chicken, it’s sensational!
Extremely delicious food. Chicken was beautifully cooked and chips were perfect. Caters for vegetarians also which is a big bonus. Definitely recommended!
Rubbish…. If you like burnt chips and poorly cooked chicken then this is the place for you !! The seagulls even passed it off….
