Went here for dinner tonight with my girlfriend, ordered a Green Vegetable Curry and some fried rice, was delicious and food arrived in a timely manner. The restaurant was empty and the one waitress serving us was super friendly despite speaking very little English. It had a nice atmosphere and I’d go again! Worth a look!
This restaurant is also operating under the name ‘Siam Oriental Thai and Asian Restaurant’, and I called to check on my order placed through eatnow.com but they answered ‘Silom Thai’, so obviously they had to rebrand due to how badly they run their business.
My order was supposed to arrive in an hour and 10 minutes, a long time but whatever.
After an hour and a half, I call and they tell me the delivery driver had already left a while back. Another 20 minutes later, I call again and they tell me the same thing, however I live 5-8 minutes drive from this restaurant, and the lady on the phone confirmed that he was dropping off several other deliveries first. When the delivery guy drops off my cold, gluey pad Thai and my overcooked, hard pork Penang curry, with cold solid coconut rice, I was understandably pretty pissed off.
In summation, this restaurant seems to be disorganized and poorly run, and whilst I’m sure they mean well they need I seriously reassess how they do things and make thorough improvements or ‘Silom Thai’ will also end up needing to be rebranded and left a failure of the past.
So disappointed as I was really looking forward to having Prawn Pad Thai but couldn’t even force my self to eat it. Such a shame!!
I’ve been a loyal customer of Silom Thai for a few years now. The food has always been really great, delivery has been really quick. Unfortunately I had a really bad experience tonight where I found hair in food. I reluctantly called up the restaurant and they offered to remake the food for me, which I declined and requested a refund. The delivery man came back to refund me, as I had paid in cash, and I was only refunded for the main meal I had ordered. I was still charged for the delivery fee and the plain rice I had ordered (he offered to leave the rice with me but I didn’t have anything to eat it with). After my phone call to the restaurant I was under the impression I would be getting a full refund because there was hair in my food and no one said anything about a partial refund. I’m really disappointed about the customer service I received. When I called the restaurant I could hear yelling in the background when the issue was being relayed. Sorry guys, you’ve been great up until now but unfortunately I won’t be ordering from you again.
Yum yum. Called in after work and they had a pork belly special….so good with lots of veggies. Ate way too much but it was so good!!! Picking up a takeaway menu for next time!!!!
We ordered at the counter and waited to take away … It took about 45 mins for a simple order ( there was only 2 tables in restaurant and a handful of collections in this time ) food was below average … Would not recommend and will not return
I have never actually written a review before, good or bad – but this was so terrible I unfortunately had to. It didn’t even taste like Thai – no flavour, very bland. The Pad Thai was quite bizarre? Very tangy… And the Beef with Oyster sauce tasted more like a stew. Won’t be going here again.
