A very local Korean restaurant, the interior of SubiQ looks like it was previously a German pub with
exposed brick and large wooden tables. They’ve made good use of the space, as tables go all the way through to the back, and they even have
*Spicy Pork Bibimbap – love stonepot bibimbap, it keeps everything hot and if you don’t disturb the rice at the bottom, it will crisp up. The serving is quite big and the veggies on top are finely cut. It’s served with the traditional sweet garlicky chilli sauce, but also with a sweet tangy soy sauce. Both go really well in the rice when you mix it up.
It’s served with complimentary side dishes, which a lot are pickled – radish, red cabbage, kimchi and a potato mash. The pickles actually go really well with the heaviness of the bibimbap.
While it’s not charcoal BBQ, the sets are pretty good value and worth a go anyway.
Service was very friendly!
Good food, reasonable price, fantastic environment and attentive service. Had korean bbq here today and fried chicken(but forgot to take a picture of the bbq :(). Both the meat and complementary side dishes were very tasty. Fry chicken was different from other korean restaurant but it was not bad. Will come back sometime to try other dishes.
Came for dinner with a small group. And ordered banquet 3 for the table top Korean bbq dining. There was plenty of food and we also had Agedashi tofu and the Boneless fried chicken with cheese. The little meals that came with the banquet came out pretty quickly so we could eat while the meat was cooking on the bbq. The meats had a lot of flavour and a good variety. Favourite dish was the boneless fried chicken with cheese. We were new to get ice cream with the banquet but we never ended up getting it in the end. Not really a big deal but it was included in the banquet.
Holy Moly!
Things just got serious…seriously amazing, seriously epic, and seriously delicious. It has been a while since I’ve been so energised ans enthusiastic about a new restaurant.
The food was fantastic, with tones of flavour, lots of entrees and banchan accompanying the BBQ set menus that offer great value.
And to compliment great food is even greater service from super friendly and attentive servers that will perfectly cook your meats.
I’m super grateful to my friend for suggesting to try a new korean bbq spot because it has shot to the top of my favourite korean bbq places.
I’m definitely, DEFINITELY going back for more!
My frienda and I ordered the Seoul BBQ set, choosing the spicy pork belly and crazy marbleised ribs with an extra serving of chicken to bbq. The set menu is recommended for 2 people, and while they had a 3 person BBQ set, we really wanted the takoyaki and kimchi stew (which definitely was the right call).
Loved that they refilled the banchan (kimchi and other small sides) and sauces, and offered extra cheese and corn and veggies when they saw how keen we were on it all.
can’t recommend this place more!!
