I didn’t know you could have so much variety when it comes to cannoli. Really changed my perception what is possible with cannoli.
A contender for best cannoli in Melbourne. The cannoli is a marriage of a good shell with tasty filling. I tried three cannoli. My favourites were amaretto and ricotta but I was by no means disappointed by the chocolate. What makes these guys a tad different is that they are 100% gluten free. I didn’t miss the gluten in the cannoli. I enjoyed these tubes of amazing. Different coloured shells for those who eat with their eyes. While Eat Cannoli specialises in cannoli (obviously), there is a small selection of light meals and drinks. They also have tasty arancini balls made by Melbourne Arancini, the best in Melbourne. Friendly service, the owners are passionate and proud about their product as they should be. Well worth a visit to Eat Cannoli.
I give them credit for starting a business. . Unfortunately for me they fall way short of the mark. Being Sicilian where cannoli come from, and after tasting these they don’t understand how flavours go together. Honey I’m what is meant to be a traditional cannoli is an absolute break of the fundamental rules of the cannoli. I think they should take a trip to Sicilia and taste and understand the fundamentals of what a cannoli is and then develop from here. Cannoli bar in Avondale heights has definitely accomplished this.
We picked up a pack of Eat Cannoli for a group lunch with 2 coeliacs, and just love that they are entirely gluten free so there is no risk of cross contamination. The fillings are piped fresh when you order and the flavours are beautiful and creamy. My favourites were the pistachio and lemon cheesecake. We did wait a few hours before eating them so the casings were a little dry, best to eat these as fresh as possible!
Not an authentic Italian place. The shell was like eating broken glass and the fillings lacked flavour. Pretty in pictures and instagramable but that’s about it. It was not worth the 30min drive. The service was good and the guys were very welcoming but It’s a shame about the cannoli.
