Worst food in Melbourne… Only hall makes the place worthwhile.
Owner owns Southbank.. That place and this one mark difference!!
Go on your own risk
BEWARE all Vegetarians !!you dont know what u r eating in your plate, i took kadhai paneer which is purely vegetarian dish but when it was served it had chicken pieces in it.Hopeless food and worst service i have ever seen. i would never recommend anybody to go and eat at Spirit of India.
I held a family wedding reception here recently and had more than 250 guests. I was overwhelmed with the compliments I received from each and every guest about the excellent food that was served here. Right from the entree to the desserts my guests simply loved it. After reading some of the negative reviews I was very apprehensive, but all that changed when my guests started complimenting me on the choice of dishes and the restaurant. Raghbir Singh the owner took care in preparing every dish delighting all my guests. For the entree I had chosen papri chaat, paneer pakora, fish amritsari and the chicken achari tikka. The chaat and the chicken were to die for. For the mains we had an extensive selection from mutton biryani, sarson Ka saag, beef vindaloo, malai kofta, bhuna chicken etc. Every dish was carefully prepared with love and care, and it was delicious. For dessert we were served their speciality – Falooda Kulfi – this was superb – to say the least!!! I would definitely consider holding another function at this venue both for its ambience, excellent food, central location and the reasonable cost.
We were invited to a function here in the spacious upstairs function room. For a place that is in the middle of nowhere that caters for ~100+ guests, you’d expect the parking situation to be better thought out.
Anyway, at first the venue looked pretty good, and from the website it had seemed the restaurant would be of a high standard. Once inside though, all that was turned on its head. Service was practically non-existent. There was a buffet of the usual Indian restaurant fare- everything swimming in oil, devoid of any flavours, everything just tasted the same. Rice was dry, naan not fresh. Didn’t stay until dessert. Luckily this was a party, as i would never pay money to eat here.
Event dinner. I attended a dinner hosted by a friend.
Except for the car parking, everything else was
a poor show. Right from ambience to organistion was a half hearted attempt.
Men’s toilet was dirty and emitting bad smell.
There was dirt all over. No paper towels. Hand drier not working.
Snacks were cold, full of oil and poorly served.
It was so disappointing that we choose to miss main meals.
This is by far my worst dining experience in the area. A simple takeaway order was placed and I was told to come back in an hr. For take away a little long but ok. When I returned I still had to wait another 15min. This despite the fact nobody was in the restraunt. If you can call it that. Will never go back
Worth the wait. We’ve waited this long for a decent Indian takeaway in the area. I can pretty much handle the extra 10 minutes wait for my order. Awesome food. Will be back.
