St. Georges is the best kept secret in Melbourne.

Nicole, the phone reservations lady is amazing. She is polite and super efficient

I have been here for lunch on many occasions and have never had a bad meal. They
do not cut corners, like many cafes and restaurants. Tuesday to Friday only. All my guests have been so impressed with the standard and the price, they have become regulars now. Prices for wines are fantastic – e.g. Tahbilk Cabernet Savignon for $25 a bottle. And a very good drop. Very Affordable.

Starched white linen and napkins, a la carte menu and excellent table service is the norm here.
I have been here for dinner, Tuesday to Thursday and at $30 for 3 courses including a side, is brilliant.
High Tea Lunch, once a month, at $25 is incredible – too much fabulous food and lots of savoury and sweet. Better than most places that charge $50 or more.

So impressed with the service and the food, I have organised the AGM for my Garden Club here. Nicole took the email for 60 people lunch, which is not a problem and I know will be well organised.

I will continue coming back to this fabulous place and support the next generation of chefs, cooks and waiters and waitresses (I spotted one of their waitressing students at Grossi Fiorentino early this year)

Ps: They have their own car parking on campus. Enter via the gatehouse and follow the arrows. The restaurant is modern, quiet and has a beautiful outlook to the garden. And it is not crowded like many other places.

Not professional Restaurant, food was okay, but i had the same serve sent to me a few times & I said i don’t want that meal 3 times, we had 3 servings with 2 different meals to choose from. When we refused, our meals, the main waitress said will go to another table & serve them, then will go back to use for your chosen meals. Parking is bad have to drive around the whole school just to figure out where to park & where the restaurant is located, warning all 1 way, so you can’t take a U turn, U turn is considered to go back on St. Georges road & start driving around again. We thought it was free drinks but its only the 1st drink free, lucky we took 2 hours to drink 1 glass, my brothers Glass was dirty. So look at dishers+ before touching them. Also 1 Waitress was walking around the whole Restaurant with Coffee, but we had no Coffee Cups & Saucers, just sugar Lol, so she went away, then we waited for our Coffee & Saucers. The Coffee end up being cold the time it did another lap around the Restaurant Lol.

Had a wonderful three course lunch for less than $30 a head including drinks. The seasoning of my entree (lamb ribs) was a little bit haphazard (one was too salty while the other was underseasoned) and my chicken main could’ve come out a bit warmer (it was a bit lukewarm) but these were minor hiccups to a pleasant meal. Looking forward to my next meal at this little gem.

Cheap, good eat!. You have to keep in mind it IS a training restaurant – BUT with students that do strive to make sure your meal is enjoyable, very affordable good food, seasonal menu, cheap cocktails & mocktails – what more could you want. Would recommend it for a good cheap eat!!

Not professional enough. I know this is a training restaurant, but you can’t misrepresent what you can offer and ignore a complaint.

I contacted the restaurant a week early to ask if they could cater for a vegan in a group of 5, to which they said yes they can so I made a booking with a call for a vegan meal.

On the day, the ordering was such a drama, and then I was told that I could have a salad. If you say you can cater for a vegan, you do not then go and ask the chef and respond with we can get you a salad!!!

I complained afterwards and there was no reply. Not the best way to train students in Customer Service in hospitality.

Excellent value for money. I went there for my birthday with 13 friends and family. We has 3 courses for $30 per person. It is a school where they train chefs and wait staff. It was a full house with big tables and only 2 wait staff, so we had to ask for drinks. But the food and value can’t be beaten. It is only open Monday to Friday and I recommend you give it a try.
