Popped in to buy their bread stick and croissant and wasn’t disappointed. Though the shop front looks like it has a lot of offerings, in fact it’s quite limited. Croissant was pretty good, buttery but lacked salt for my liking – but I’d have it again. Bread stick was good if you like it really crunchy.
Probably the best croissants I’ve ever had in my entirely life, and I’ve been to France! However, I must say that the best thing on the menu is the chicken empanada, they are heaven in a pastry. Also the tart bases that these guys make are to die for. And who can say anything about alchemy without mentioning the lovely service. Great family-run business, they’ve always got a smile and they’re very fine/hard workers. You can tell that they’ve put a lot of love and effort into what they do.
5 out of 5 for food and service, would recommend to anyone stopping by Queenscliff!

More bakery than restaurant, makes excellent croissants, and the bread is very good too. Ate a chocolate tart that was so so – delightful crust but the filling too sweet.
Delightful small cafe with high quality products and pastries. More interesting than other nearby options. Looking forward to returning soon.
