We had a few of the options and I had the fish burger which was supposed to be grilled yet they brought out fried fish…this also happened with my friend. Very flavourless and the service is bizarre. The worst part was the lack of hygiene having seen the server use his hands to pack food, take money and wipe some tongs on his shirt 🙁
Best fish and chips in a loooong time. No soaked-in-oil chips. The fish felt like fresh fish, not frozen. Good batter and the right amount of salt. Tasty calamari rings. All good quality. Will go back when in queenscliff area.
Order a grass beds pack and two pieces of flathead, the whiting was delicous but the batter was poorly cooked, the flathead was average had definitely eaten better at other fish an chip shops the chips were ok nothing i would rave about and certainly not worth the $61 price tag for it all. All in all quite a disappointing experience at what could be a brilliant fish an chip shop
Fabulous fish and chips. Terrific experience, great local product, fast and efficient service. Recently has the grilled local snapper (snapper season) and it was some of the best I’ve had. 10/10 stop off here regularly.
It’s ade-Q-ate. The fish and chips I had from here wasnt bad; just nothing exceptional. The beer batter on the fish was slightly claggy on the inside, but not enough to be bothersome. The fish of the day was flake, and it was flaky enough to be falling apart as I ate it, but thats why we have forks, right? The stack of chips that came with it was substantial enough that I had leftovers to take home and reheat in my toaster over for a snack. There were a couple of so-so potato cakes in the Back Beach Pack ($13.50) and the dim sim was large. It seemed like it was made in-house, and was definitely better than those MSG-laden greasebombs sold at South Melbourne Market. I still consider dimmies a poor adaptation of Chinese food. This joint has a nice setting to eat by the marina, so its an OK spot if you want typical seaside town fish n chips. Their prices are lower than the slightly fancier seafood restaurant a few shopfronts down.
