When you try to restart your diet on a Monday again & all u want is a good salad without the Richmond price, this cafe might be your answer. I got two salads, chickpea and a sweet sesame broccoli – really nice, $10. Not exactly a glamour cafe but does feels like family.. handful of ppl have walked in so far and catching up on conversation, lovely.
The food is tasty but the way the boss talks to her staff is just outrageous.
Blame culture, nasty, and just hammered one of her staff about the same topic repeatedly over 15 minutes – loud enough to be heard throughout the whole cafe. It was just awful. It completely ruined the atmosphere, but my oh my what a different persona with customers, just so friendly!
I said something to her before I left but I won’t be back. I just can’t support someone who treats their team so poorly, and there’s plenty of places doing great food with much better culture and atmosphere on Church st.
Don’t go anywhere else for your coffee because Amsterdam Street has the best coffee in Melbourne as well as great food. Really nice people too!
Omg wow! Corn fritters with avocado salsa and beautiful poached eggs to the way I like. And the coffee was great. Pretty happy with the service with the staff being bubbly and happy great place.
Hidden away off church street lays Amsterdam street cafe.i had one of the beef Burgers it was small and lacked flavor, priced at $12, I expected more.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Staff are always happy to see me, as I am them, Always have a little chat about this and that… They always go that extra mile and nothing is ever an issue. Totally not pretentious at all, unlike the surrounding foodie places here in Richmond… where I’ve waited 15+mins for a coffee and felt like an idiot in line full of hipsters. Amsterdam’s Staff have a great sense of humour, great food and honestly the best cafe in Melbourne. Never fails to put a smile on my face. Highly recommend and send all my customers over there for coffee and a bite. favourites are the Fresh salads ,Banana Bread, ham/cheese&tomato toastie and of course the Coffee.. 🙂
All good things come of small packets… is that the saying? Hope so cos it is true for Amsterdam Street! Tucked away on the hustle and bustle of Church Street this little hideaway is a haven for good coffee and amazing lunching!
