Lunch sets surprisingly affordable. Great taste, excellent service. Suited more to small tables than big crowds. Food took a little long to arrive, outside of that everything was really good. Would return.
Went to the shop accidentally after dinner because it looks really cute. We shared a pot of tea and a cake- both tasty and really cheap for the quality. Will come back to try more dishes next time.
A cute little Japanese tea place. Loved the styling and a huge array of teas. Although the cakes looks good didnt try them at this time. The teapots were cute and well presented
Love this cafe. So many delicious matcha treats. My favourite spot for a matcha latte in Melbourne with a great selection of authentic Japanese sweets. Staff are super friendly, great vibe.
Stumbled upon this hidden gem in Richmond while I was wandering around doing errands in the area, and knew I had to come back to try them out! Having been to Japan before, I can confidently say that their food and drinks are tasty and authentic. Their matcha latte, iced matcha and matcha booster (I tried the lychee apple one) were all delicious! In all my time in Melbourne Ive had such a challenge finding good matcha flavoured drinks… but I have finally found THE place for them. Fellow matcha lovers, you will not be disappointed here.
For food we ordered the edamame and chicken karaage to share, and the ebi-fry curry, dry curry and spicy karaage don as mains. Each dish was a generous portion and full of authentic delicious flavours. The price is such a steal.
Its a traditionally decorated small to medium sized space, with a view into the kitchen area. Service was slow to start, but the staff were attentive, polite and kind. Will definitely be coming here regularly! Unfortunately my phone bugged out and I lost my photos, but will attach them in the future after another visit. The drawings on the menu are very accurate!
An easy 4 stars. We were actually on our way to another restaurant when we walked by here and I suddenly felt like Japanese for dinner instead. The menu is rather limited (no noodles or soups) but that didnt matter when there was a separate menu for drinks and dessert. We ordered the chicken katsu dish as well as the vegetable dish. We thought there wouldnt be enough vegetables between two so in hindsight, getting 2 chicken katsu dishes would have been fine (as it comes with veggies). Regular size is plenty enough but if you feel like youll be super hungry, then you could upsize it to large. We also ordered the coconut matcha latte which was perfect in temperature and sweetness. We ended our dinner with two ice cream puffs (sesame and hojicha flavour). We would have liked to try some of the cakes but it ran out fast. We saw lots of people ordering them (to eat in and take out) so next time, well have to come back to try them!
Nice and cozy ambience. Friendly staff. **NOTE: Kitchen closes at least 20 minutes before closing time or restaurant closes even earlier (before 8pm) when no one is inside. No split bill. The miso soup is free (when you order the main food)
