I’m not one to boast, but when it comes to potato cakes, I’m probably one of Australia’s preeminent potato cake connoisseurs. This man’s potato cakes are world class. If potato cake production got the same sort of attention as fine dining experiences, this place would have a Michelin star.

    Marginally better than starving.
$12.50 for fish and chips with a dim sim and can of coke. Oil wasn’t hot enough so everything was a soggy oily mess, not a single crunchy chip. Would recommend a health inspection.

Sorry to say that this was the worst fish and chips I have ever had. The couple running it are lovely, but the food was inedible. Frozen battered fish was soggy, old oil made the dim sims dark brown and taste odd, chips and potato cakes so soggy and undercooked. Won’t order again.

Best I’ve had in Melbourne. I grew up in fish and chip shops and am a very hard man to impress. Nice Flake, great batter, reasonably recently changed oil.

  • The Chip Man

Great chips and great service. George always serves with a smile. Best chip shop in Australia if not the world. Would eat this for every meal if it was open for breakfast.

Best chip I’ve found in Melbourne. It surprises me this place isn’t more popular. Fresh cut chips, none of that frozen rubbish. George runs a great shop.

Solid old school fish and chip joint you would have gone to as a kid. Freshly battered flake, cooked in to crispy perfection and the best potato cake this little elephant done seen. Come here for a chat and no fuss feed before every fish and chip store becomes fancy pants nonsense.
