I want to start off by saying how beautiful the decor of this Cafe is!. It has such a great vibe about the place, its layout is beautiful. We ordered a variety of things from the menu, I enjoyed everything. My only criticism would be to have a few more put together meals. I found a lot of the meals were broken down little meals which was nice but not enough variety for the main Breakfast/Lunch items.

A well known Melbourne brunch spot. Hit this up now that the weather is getting better. Aesthetically pleasing food with flavours to boot! Coffee is great too. Atmosphere and staff were on point.

Kitty Burns is in a fantastic location, and is quite a beautiful looking caf- but that is where the positives end I am afraid. Dined here an hour or so before its (somewhat) early close time, on Saturday and I was very hungry.
My partner and I waited far too long, seeing all the staff doing everything but serving the tables.
I had to resort to going to the counter to flag someone down to order! (pet hate 1)
The food menu was interesting and had lots of choices, and I spose all of it looked very well presented and Instagrammable.
But geez, I guess looks can be deceiving, and do not account for everything.
Their Signature dish popcorn chicken & waffles were sold out, and so I hurriedly ordered the so called spicy Chicken burger and partner had Eggs Benedict with a side order of bacon. I ordered a coffee and asked for it to be hot; my partner ordered an iced chocolate. When the burger came out within a minute of ordering, I was a bit surprised, but started eating. Then a waiter came up, and thrust another dish at me, claiming I had the wrong order.
Well, this is the chicken burger, the waffles were sold out I replied.
Obviously, I had received someone elses order.
*Heres a tip wait staff- table numbers are there for a reason- use them when taking an order. Its not rocket science!
My partner had to wait an eternity for his eggs (which were cold) the bacon was warmish and the rest was hot- he said all were rather tasteless. So my spicy burger was not so spicy and had a mere smear of chipotle mayo on it and a whole lotta slaw and zero taste. One piece of chicken scalded my tastebuds off, the other was stone cold. The coffee was in a tiny tiny cup (pet hate 2) and barely lukewarm. My partners ice chocolate was simply ice cream, milk and cocoa powder (not mixed) dumped in a glass with no spoon- had to flag someone down to ask for one (pet hate 3!)
The meals cost me $50 and I felt ripped off.
Will I pay Kitty Burns another visit?
    Unlikely.

This cafe is beautiful, from the moment you walk in. Beautiful decor, so light and bright. And beautiful dishes to follow.
We enjoyed the salmon and avocado tartare which was refreshing, well balanced and great flavours. Would definitely order again.
We also had the waffles with chicken and candied bacon. We loved this dish, but found it a little too sweet.
    Looking forward to another visit!

Unfortunately had a bad experience. After arriving and told to find our own seats, no menu or water brought over, waited 15 mins and then approached staff to advise no one had given us menus or take our order. The person then advised she couldn’t take it as she wasn’t looking after outside customers, went to tell the responsible person who looked as us and then went and took 2 other tables orders instead (who had only just arrived). We then walked out. In Melbourne you can’t afford to have staff like this. Will not return.
