4.3. Of the same milieu/owner as Chin Chin and Hawker Hall, Kong is amazing. While the food at each is beautiful and individual, the thing that stands out here is the service. On arrival, we had two attentive servers fussing over our very need immediately. It was very impressive. The fitout here is outstanding: pipes and taps are incorporated into the visual offering and it works wonderfully. Our food arrived quickly, and was just superb. Prawn and scallops dumplings, chicken bao and a special broccoli Asian style. Mixed with special – really special – fried rice, and this place is a go to venue. Great and simple wine list. Try here. Fantastic.
I came here for a late lunch at 2pm and normally it’s so busy but we managed to get a table by the window. it’s a quaint small restaurant.
service was good. me and my friend decided to go with the feed me option. had a small error when the first 2 dishes came out as we asked for no bun or fried food and that’s what came out.
the food was ok. bossam is grilled and not boiled as it traditionally is. the best dishes that i enjoyed was the tuna takaki and the salmon tartare. the pannacotta was average, but I enjoyed the unique taste of the yuzu cheesecake. it’s very modern Korean but not sure I could do it again.
Came here on Saturday night excited about what this place to offer. Ive read the reviews on how this is part of the Lucas Group and it isnt as good as the others blah blah blah. Frankly its a completely different restaurant to Chin Chin and others so I dont know why you would compare it to them just because its part of the Lucas Group
Anyway to the review, crab buns we ordered was delicious, tuna tataki was decent but not amazing, the beef brisket was amazing though the portion was a little smaller than what we expected and the greens beans were tasty.
Service was quick and friendly. The only downside of the place was it lacked a little ambience and that the bill was a bit on the expensive side but all in the fusion of the cuisine was different and fresh.
Kong BBQ in Richmond. Part of the Lucas group and they serve fusion Korean food. Overall it was nice experience and great ambience and friendly staff. Food was just average to me. It is not that traditional Korean BBQ food but do serve with food quality meat. Rice was too dry to eat. If just comment on food, It is only a 3.5 to me I think

Been meaning to go to this places for ages so finally got around to going and it did not disappoint we started with the Korean Friday chicken and pork dumplings both were delicious and then after that we ordered the meat tray and the bbq corn which were both absolutely delicious especially the corn the flavours were so good bill came to $74 and we both left very full and satisfied would definitely recommend this place to others.
Came here the other night for dinner to try their Korean-inspired dishes.
We arrived at around 7 pm and was quite surprised to see how quiet it was! Good for us anyway!
We sat down next to the window and I thought it was quite cool that there was a projector that displayed a movie on the white brick wall outside the restaurant- very unique.
We ordered the Korean-style fried chicken with yang yang sauce and crushed nuts, we also ordered the beef short rib, bbq corn and the fried rice with enoki mushroom and soy charred tofu. The corn was scrumptious! We loved the shredded cheese on top. The beef short rib was so tender and juicy but just not filling enough. The Tofu fried chicken was plentiful, crunchy and tasty.
Exceptional customer service – the waitress who served was attentive, friendly and talkative.
Will most definitely be back to try something else on the menu – there is so much to choose from!
Kong BBQ Fusion on another level is all I have to say… American Texas flavours mixed with Korean bbq isnt the first thing you think of when you think fusion, but here we are melbourne providing us with the most unexpected treats. I had the special for the week duck Raman, and I was contemplating ordering another …. but then I remembered there was a whole tray of roasted amazing meats waiting to be devoured. Definitely give this place a go, youre not gonna be leaving disappointed.
