We dined at Kong due to the high ratings received and to be quite frank; we were very disappointed with the food. We chose a variety of dishes from their menu and whilst they look appetising, unfortunately the flavours were the complete opposite and were a strange fusion. The only positive comment I can note is their great service.
Superb food at a great price. The Japanese fried rice with kimchi, bulgogi beef and fried egg was bursting with flavour and the dish we ordered to pair with it, an Asian inspired slaw with edamame beans, sesame seeds and coriander, was tangy and bitingly fresh. Top it off with a Kyoto iced coffee and a coconut and cinnamon iced crush, and its pretty much heaven. Service was spot onattentive, without being pushy. And the whole place had a diner vibe with some alt-rock not too loud and not too soft. Give it a shot.
