Had NYE dinner with family. Service is great and the food is wonderful! Try the ribs, tender and fall off the bone. Mixing of western and asian ingredients gave the dishes well balanced flavour.

Drinks were nice, service was friendly. I was disappointed that dishes that were served wasn’t true to menu descriptions. This wasn’t brought to our attention when ordering either. Ingredients were substituted in a few dishes. I’m unlikely to revisit.

I’m an absolutely masive fan of Japanese food from raw to cooked to the incredible noodle soups. This place is quite new and comfortably nestled in Burnley Village. We decided to share all our meals and for starters we ordered slow cooked beef tendon fried skewers, beef mince croquettes and the menchi katsu. Both the croquettes and the menchi were nice but the sauce and garnish was exactly the same. The beef tendons were flavorless, so much batter and very little else. For mains we ordered the seared tuna ceviche, crispy fried chicken, beef short ribs and the japanese stir fried rice with pork belly. The tuna ceviche was a standout, fresh and served with white wine vinegar, cherry tomatoes and the tangy lime and mandarin segments were divine, a well balanced dish which I’d gladly eat again. However the chicken wasn’t, it promosed to be crispy which it wasn’t and came with no sauce. The beef short ribs were better with a nice caramelised sugar sticky sauce, though not enough sauce. Both these dishes came off the ‘finger licking good’ menu but failed to meet the brief. The disappointment came with the rice, not because of the flavour but the timing, it was the last dish served but should have been served with the first dish and because we ate it on its own, it was a little bland. All in all a tad disappointed though was impressed with the waitress who was on her own and did a good job.

**3.5 stars** We tried this newly opened cafe in Richmond. Parking was a bit hard to find seeing as this cafe is situated near the busy corner of Burnley Street and Swan street, but still part of the residential area. The front of the cafe is not very noticeable for afar either, but there is a small sign above with its name. Surprisingly, its very spacious inside and can hold a lot of seats. The interior is simple, modern and clean. Staff are friendly and service is prompt. Coffee (from Seven Seeds) was delicious, not to mention the size of the cup (for a normal cappuccino at $4) was generous.
Food wise, it was okay. We ordered the Tamagoyaki Omelette; the roast pork with miso dressing was too sweet and was the filling inside the omelette, which in turn was pretty soggy. The apple shiso salad sauteed with wild mushroom did in fact work well together in this dish. The other plate we ordered on the menu was the Chia Acai Pudding which was easy to eat but very sour. You really need to mix the bowl well in order to have that less-sour taste. All-in-all, a nice addition to the cafe scene in Richmond. **NOTE: 10% surcharge applies on public holidays. Card payments incur 1.25% fee.

*** Updated 15/11/18: ** 4 stars** The food was better this second time around. The Chia Aai Pudding was well balanced and refreshing. The Japanese Souffl Hotcake delivered the right kind of sweetness and the texture of the cake was soft and moist. Great service like before. Well be coming back to try some more of the other dishes.
