  Loco Lorelei – worst customer ever. I was in Richmond Rush the day Loco Lorelei rudely pushed past me to get to the cabinet, as she was running late, and proceeded to talk down to the staff, insultingly asking the barista if he knew what a magic was, stupidly asking for a sandwich to be toasted knowing she was already running late, then telling the staff to ‘Get F**ked’ on her way out. Looking at her profile, she is a pretentious twat of the first order!
  Good on the staff at Richmond Rush for dealing with this fruit-loop successfully. I love going there, and will do so with more enjoyment knowing that douche bag will never enter the cafe again!

  Smashed Avocado Mission – stalled at Rush.. I have been on a mission for the past 3 years to find a better smashed avo dish and I just can’t do it. There was that one day when I dropped in and they didn’t have any avos (DEVO) but still, Rush cannot be beaten on this one! Simple + perfect ratio of ingredients = top bloody notch smashed avo. Coffee is delicious too. Service a little slow sometimes but worth the wait.

  Upon reflecting back on last year (while standing at Richmond waiting for my train), Rush is the winner of Rudest Cafe Staff for 2014. Yup, I was that confused and offended. Zero expediency, a polite, awkward mention that I was in a ‘rush’ (how ironic) was met with a look of disgust and open bitching between staff. I was told that it was my fault… but common sense would assume that 12-15min would be sufficient to make a coffee and toast a sandwich. And… being located next to a train station. ..

  Poor attitude. I have been to Rush 4-5 times and each time found the customer service to be minimal and at times clearly disinterested. The food is great and reasonably priced but I can’t justify paying cafe prices when I have to BYO atmosphere. The onus should not be on the customer to provide the friendliness. More of a glorified deli than a cafe.

  Too expensive for a coffee. The gentleman at the counter was really friendly. But they wanted 80 cents for soy and 80 cents for strong, too over priced so I got a half-full long black. It was a too watery and let me down greatly.

  Really rude service. Be warned, the staff an be incredibly rude at this place.
  As the other reviews mentioned the female staff mainly talk among themselves while you are waiting to be served or even while making your coffee. On TWO occasions I had the same woman plonk my finished coffee on her cash register bench and didn’t even bring the coffee out to me or tell me that it was ready. I just sat there reading the paper waiting, not knowing that my coffee was actually ready. I looked up to see the two female staff talking among themselves and then realized my coffee had probably just been sitting there for about 2 minutes. As I went up to get it they stopped chatting to each other and both looked at me, they didn’t say a word and just gave me a weird smile then continued chatting with each other and I left with my coffee thinking WTF! I shrugged this off and returned a few days later and the EXACT same thing happened again! They never once brought the coffee to me or told me when it was ready….and they never smile. Since then I refuse to ever return to that place even though I live just around the corner. VERY RUDE SERVICE!
