My family & I went to Royal Oak for a quick Saturday lunch. The $15 lunch special has a variety of options and is great value for money – we were all very happy with our meals (I got the grazers pie which was really nice). Staff were friendly and service was prompt.
On my second visit to Royal Oak I ordered a Parma. It was nothing special at all and I couldn’t finish it as it lacked taste.

$6 Furphy pints. Another 50% bar, 50% TAB, except more like 80% TAB. Can’t really escape gambling here, but no way can you go past $6 pints, can comment that the bar man had zero banter/sociability.

Im sorry to say that but I had the worst Parma. Was hoping for great things from my local place! Parma was a soggy mess when it came to the table, didn’t seem fresh had a smell to it. It was sitting on top of the salad and chips so they ended up soggy too. I never refuse food but I couldn’t finish this meal and left disappointed. Hopefully there is improvements

Pity there’s no minus score – Ordered the grilled barramundi with veg – it arrived relatively quickly atop a mix of warm lettuce & peas – if I’d wanted salad I wouldn’t have minded but warm limp lettuce is a turn off. The fish quickly turned soggy. My partner had chicken schnitzel pity it was you guessed it -sitting on top of a salad…

Classic, good quality pub food. Nothing fancy just well priced food. The daily specials are your best bet, Parma night is great, have loved every variety of Parma so far.

Pub classics. Not a problem there. Freshly and promptly cooked. Friendly staff.

Why the markdown? Public Holiday surcharge. Let me qualify that – I don’t mind there being one if a notice is easily seen. To be told at the point of sale immediately kills the positive vibe.

    Truth, people!

We always go as a small group and have never experienced anything that’s not up to par. The service is friendly, accommodating and quite fast.

The food is delicious with a very friendly and polite chef who always says hello and works to please anyone with particular dietary requirements.

Mostly our little group gets the seniors menu which is jolly good value, sometimes we choose other selections on the menu and all are well priced and good value.

It’s always a pleasure and I recommend the Royal Oak Hotel as a jolly good place to go out for a nice meal without the fancy prices.
