The last two times I passed by, St Domenico was closed! But last night was third time lucky, and it was worth the wait. The arancini starters were nice (although not mind blowing – but I’m a tough critic with arancini, as my wife is Sicilian), but the pizzas were the star. We ordered the capricciosa and salsiccia (sausage) (which had a nice sweet twist with apple and balsamic vinegar) pizzas, which were both cooked to perfection. The dough was tasty, and the toppings plentiful. What’s more, the service was friendly and prompt. We’ll be back!
As an Italian restaurant you cant get the basics wrong. Unfortunately this place has. The bruschetta was terrible and tasted like old toast. The pizzas and pastas werent much better (the gnocchi was closer to potato mash than pasta). Im still fuming with my poor restaurant choice.
