Pleasently surprised. New establishment and they are still obviously finding their feet service wise, but vey pleasant and eager. Pasta was authentically flavoured and delicious, made the wait worthwhile. Pizzas on other tables looked and smelled great, will try next time. Panna cotta for desert was great…genuine home made, not mass produced or full of gelatine.

Staff are ultra friendly, very helpful lovely people who even generously gave us an extra scoop of ice-cream. We used Groupon – $39 for a 2 mains, 2 glasses of wine, a shared entree and shared dessert, on a Sunday night – they fitted us in with very short notice. Restaurant was about 20% full when we arrived at 6:30, 65% full when we left. We ordered an extra bolognase on the top for the kids. Eggplant fries were perfectly done, as was the chicken gnocci and bolognase. the seafood risotto would have been perfect except the scallops seemed like some sort of processed marinara – i.e. it had a different texture than real scallops; mussels were of average quality. Gelati and sorbet were very good quality – the flavours definitely came out in all 4 scoops. House red was lovely and easy to drink – probably a merlot. The decor is ok, though the bamboo cladding on the base of the walls seems the one thing out of place – and yes we recognise that it came from the previous Thai restaurant; facilities were new looking and clean though. Brown paper table cloths is very different to the standard white paper used in most Italian restaurants – this gives the place more of a casual feel, rather than classy or formal. overall we enjoyed the experience and would more than likely come back another time – the Groupon deal seems like value anyway.

One of the worse dining experiences weve ever had! All the way from trying to book, to the service and food! We were given either an early booking or late booking because of a lot of large bookings, only to get there to find the restaurant empty! We were there for 1hr 20mins and it was still virtually empty?!?! Cant mention a few issues here, but we turned to make sure we were in the right place. Some of the staff had no idea about anything and wandered aimlessly all night, said we could exchange our wine to beer but then we were refused and offered soft drink in place. The staff hovered over us to get our order as we skimmed the menu fast, not giving us time to look.

Entree of Aranchini balls were sticky dry gluten balls of no flavour, sauce was nice, half the rocket was yellow. Still chewing our entree and mains were placed in front of us.

Looked very unappetising as undercooked chips and cheese on Parma was just melted, so was like a rubber globular mess! Could barely cut through the first part of chicken as dry and stringy. Hardly any sauce on Parma, few blobs on top of the rubber cheese, over all Parma had virtually no flavour. Our other main of garlic Prawns had poor presentation – just chucked on the plate. Prawns werent deveined and had too much shell left on, and over cooked as like rubber! The garlic cream sauce was tasty though yay. We were over it all and couldnt eat most of our meals. Oh the salad was quite delicious …double yay!

We were then left waiting for a long time to order dessert – at this stage we were trying to hurry it along to get out of there. Finally our panacotta arrived, as small as it was. Presentation average as it had many glad wrap marks from the mould. Thankfully it was the best part of the meal! The berry element didnt go and couldve stayed off the plate. We will never return to this restaurant, and wished wed gone to maccas instead it was that bad. Groupon saved us paying full price, and we still felt we paid too much for what we got. Sorry but a big thumbs down!!!! Adam Mirams

All of the food we had was fantastic. The bomboloni for dessert in particular! The let down was the service, huge English language barrier which made things difficult but would return.

I ordered these guys take away because I saw their lunch special, and Dominos round here is really bad (2 x bouts of food poisoning). I was not expecting what I got:

    – Great pizza without the pretense
    – Good Bruschetta

I’d recommend this restaurant: great food – and value for money. Most satisfied and now loyal customer.
