Really nice pub meal in Rutherglen. They were understaffed and a bit of issues getting the right price to pay, but it’s the country so we understood. Great price and felt very relaxed and well looked after. We had the Parma and vegetarian lasagne. Would return.
A group of us come to the Rutherglen wine walk about every year and look forward to dining at Mrs. Browns. This year it was less than average crockpot food and feral! Very sad, won’t be returning next year
Perfect Pub Grub. Really loved the atmosphere in this pub & the food was excellent too so a winning combo all round. Nice friendly atmosphere in the main bar with not a poker machine in sight (or sound!); fire burning away each evening we visited with a nice selection of local wines available by glass or bottle. The new chef is introducing a bit of American South to the menu it appears we really enjoyed our meal. My partner had a massive ribeye fillet whilst I had the blackened pork ribs – both excellent. Highly recommend this pub, especially for casual visitors to the area (like we were).
New chef Drew served up Georgia spare ribs and Chicken parma, well never had i had ribs where the meat simply falls from the bone. Moist, crisp with a sauce of just enough sweetness that kept my tastebuds amused and excited for its duration! A simple salad and the best home cut crisp wedges completed a amazing dish. The parma was light, moist, and def not overpowering as they can be. Again salad and great chips. Thanks Drew. Freindly country pub in the heart of Rutherglen. Worth a drive!
The Victoria pub has been a fave of mine for well over a decade, but I admit the visits are not as often as they should be. The food – I had the Cajun rub eye- was about as good as it gets. Being a keen bbqer of the rib eye, I am jealous of this one. Also always a treat to eat cow with a Rutherglen Red
