I was introduced to the Gippy Parmi by some friends. Initially very skeptical it proved a pleasant surprise – good honest food and plenty of it. Decor is dated, wine list was limited but I didn’t expect any more.
Don’t judge a book by its cover! This is one of the best pub/bistro venues in Sale. From the outside is looks a little old and daggy, but once you step into the bistro it is very warm and welcoming, with a nice layout and a relaxed vibe.I have been here multiple times and the first thing to note is that the portion size of all the meals are huge regardless if it’s an entree or a main, you really do get great value for money here!The entrees are pretty big, the garlic bread is a large crusty bun in slices, the garlic prawns are served on rice which is enough to be a main meal and the standout entree is the yum-cha dish which is a deep fried selection of mixed Asian finger food, presented very nicely with lettuce and prawn crackers and is definitely a great starter to share!The parmas are amazing and very filling, I would say they are probably the best parmas in Sale! Mondays and Tuesdays are parma night specials where you can choose from heaps of different types of toppings and sides.The service here is also good, all the staff are friendly and this is a great place to have a nice quiet meal when you’re starving!
