Good Steak sandwich, fantastic BBQ sauce to Aioli ratio, yum chips, sadly, your coffee beans are just, Utterly lackluster, not even a mocha can save nasty beans. Get some Demazzatino beans or something smooth that doesn’t taste akin to burnt hay.
Very basic pub meals. Steak was pretty dry. Share entree for two was the best thing I had. Followed by a big glass of pepper jack Shiraz. Probably wouldn’t be back in a rush .
Been here twice and won’t be back. First time the waitress forgot to order our meals, when they did arrive after 45 mins they were OK but the gloss had gone off the experience by then. When we went to pay we were charged for the free wine with the Seniors meals. We were refunded but the excuse was so glib it seemed this had happened more than once.We tried The Star again thinking our previous experience was a one off, however a bus load of tourists arrived and our meal again got lost and again we were charged for our free wine with the Seniors meal. Impeccable fail. There are too many great places to eat in Sale to lose local customers this way.
Came here with a friend for dinner on a Monday night. We ordered the fettuccini carbonara and chicken BLT. The BLT was delicious and they cooked it for me specially as it was part of the lunch menu. The carbonara was packed with onion however and not great. We also had desserts, the chocolate mousse was delicious !! The staff were also great very friendly and helpful!
Came here to check this place out during my stay in Sale and was not impressed. I ordered the fish and chips which was just a completely deep fried meal and was still dripping in oil whilst the salad was very basic and bland. The fish was 60% batter 30% fish and the chips were flavourless. Not sure if I would try this place again when there are plenty of nice dinner options in Sale.
