Fish and chips game got upgraded thanks to Luxe fish. On close inspection indeed they use fresh fish, chips are thick steak- cut and cooking is done with cottonseed oil (confirmed by waitress). Burgers nice and tasty but not too heavy because of their light milk buns. Enjoy premium ingredients. Just surprised they don’t highlight it!
The food is ridiculously expensive for fish and chips. We ordered 5 fish, large chips, garden salad and a burger which was almost $100!! We got home to find they had not given us the burger. I rang up, went back down and had to wait another 10 minutes for them to make it. No compensation given for messing up our order or offer to deliver it to us. Save $70 and go to the fish and chips across the road. Would not go back here.
Service here is beyond terrible. Every time I have been we’ve waited ages – nothing else on the grill, and still had to wait 35 minutes for a single portion of grilled fish and chips. Nothing special about the food either. Inedible salad and overpriced.
First time experience. Waited half hour which was understandable for a Friday night. Had a grill back. Awesome fish and yummy chips. Not impressed with the salad which was soggy and not fresh
Disappointed today with Luxe Fish. Usually very good quality and worth the higher price – but today the chips were a bit average and for some reason the fish was crumbed (usually the fried fish has a nice batter on them). I guess I’ll give them one more try just in case the usual kitchen staff were on holiday…
Best food in Melbourne! Just started regularly coming here I think the fish is awesome and usually don’t eat burgers but just tried the Royale with cheese and it blew my mind! Definitely coming back!!!!
Luxe is pure luxury and the food is better than deluxe with the quality stranded with the even better feeling of excellent and efficient friendly service. Honestly it’s the best fish and chips style burger I’ve ever had and sadly I struggled to eat all of it unfortunately. My jaw dropped when it arrived to the table as the size of it blew me away. The chips are so delicious too and I suggest you add the truffle oil and Parmesan cheese to it for extra added flavour. This place sure has the wow factor about it and I’m looking forward to returning again.
