This place is a bit wham bam thank you mam if you get my drift…the views are lovely, but the meals are pretty average and the place is in need of a bit of a spruce up. My friend had the fish and chips and the serving was absolutely tiny for the amount you paid for it. I cant even remember what I had as it was so underwhelming. Sorry to have to give such a review but I think the public need to know…
I must have came here before the renovations…
The Sandy has been done up since our last visit almost a year ago. A trendy new facelift on what is my grandmothers favourite venue and table service instead of counter meals took some adjusting for her, but we gave it a whirl. Pensioner Card in hand we ordered a parma with chips and slaw, a cheeseburger with fries and Kellie had the healthy option of Broccoli Fettuccine.
Service was a little slow to take orders and then the wait time was close to 40 minutes for the food to arrive… granny was not happy… in fact Ive never seen her so hangry in all my life. When the food did come out the portion sizes were smaller than before but they seemed better quality and the chips were still as good as we remembered. The fettuccine, Im told, was delicious but again could have done with a slightly larger serve.
Would have been a rating of 4 except for the slow turn around time. It was the week before Christmas so the venue should have anticipated being busier than your typical Monday.
Nice reno for the old pub but food didn’t really match. Was tasty but for the price it was a basic menu and pretty simple pub grub. Happy to give them another shot though.
Went for dinner with friends with 3 kids on a Saturday night, it was packed. I shared the feasting plate which included beef tacos, calamari, lamb and chicken ribs, charred corn and onion rings. It was all delicious and I was very full when we finished. Others had fish and chips and a parma and everyone enjoyed their meal. Only thing was they brought out all drinks except mine, which they didn’t notice, and after a 10 min wait had to chase someone down to get it.
