Had lunch there today in the Bistro with friends at table 12. My wife had chicken Cordon Bleu and her chicken was very dry and mash was not nice. I had Chicken in FILO (both meals from specials menu) and the filo wasnt crispy could have been cooked earlier and heated up and mashed potato was also tasteless but vegetables were done nicely. One friend from seniors menu had lamb shank and loved it and her husband had Chicken Curry and said it was nice. Staff were very friendly.
The service in this place is a shocker! We decided to drop in for lunch at around 1 pm on Saturday. We stood at the seating podium for about 10 minutes behind another couple and no one acknowledged us. The bar staff didn’t look over even though we were 3 feet from them. We ended up going to the bar and yet again were ignored by the 2 staff who were trying to work out the til. After another 5 minutes we were finally served and I asked should we seat ourselves! Was told no! The people prior to us had seated themselves and came back to help themselves to menus. We are seated and there was no explaining of how to order or that there was a specials menu. We worked out that we had to go up and order… That’s when we found the specials. The kitchen staff were lovely and attentive. Meals came out and even though there was a sign showing where to pick up your meal the waitress bought it over to the table! Very confusing! as for the meals, well they were just as sad as the service. Tempura oysters, one had been fried within an inch of its life but the rest were OK… Onto the mains… Loads of chips with a sprinkling of salad… I guess chips are cheaper!! Entree dishes weren’t taken away until mains arrived and those oyster shells were smelling ripe!
Overall very poor experience for a $90 meal between 2 people.. Won’t be back
Just a suggestion; if you can’t serve food between 2.30-5pm because you don’t have a chef… Perhaps update your website and online listings to reflect that.
Great food with good value prices. Been here few times with family or friends. Great location to meet up for lunch or dinner. Love the Crispy Skin Salmon on Garlic Mash with Chargrilled Capsicum and Broccolini and Balsamic Glaze ($25). Their Chicken Parma is delicious as well.
Food was average for a pub, the menu has not very much to choose from, we were the only diners on a Sunday night at 8pm.
Staff were very friendly and nice, will try again on a Friday or Saturday at 7 ish to check the atmosphere.
Food is good here with polite staff and a standard bustro ambience. Unfortunately, after going here over 5 years the prices have crept up too high.
Terrible Parma would not recommend
