This place is amazing. The quality of the food is just fantastic, their avocado sushi roll is without a doubt the best I’ve ever had (I’m from Melbourne too). The staff are lovely and friendly. I’ve dined in and taken away and all have been very pleasant experiences. Zen x is great!

A very bad experience.. We stopped at ZenX on the way home to Melbourne. It is clear as soon as you enter the shop that it is not a high quality place, but that is not a problem if the food is good. It wasn’t !!! We often eat in Japanese restaurants but this is the worst.The waitress was very polite and helpful with her little English.The first problem was that we had to wait so long to receive our order. Then my wife’s yakitori was still raw. We asked for a new dish and the main cook was very clearly not happy and tried to argue that it was cooked. Finally after a near argument we got a new dish. It was a very unpleasant experience.
