They have the BEST pandan croissants though when trying to get these we have to go there earlier or it will run out of it, the pistachio madeline is also pretty good, also the paris brest is good with hazelnut cream

Such delicious crossaints and pastries ! We loved the crunchy crispy outside of the croissant and the buttery inside . The apple tartine was also amazing , perfectly cooked apples on flakey buttery pastry ! So good

While it was good, my suggestion is not to take away the croissant because cold croissants are really not delicious. The Pandan croissant was not too sweet which was a plus point. I just didnt think it was as phenomenal as the review and queues suggest. Sorry I think lune wins this competition – Ive had cold croissants from lune and they were delicious. I got quite sick of agathes croissant midway.

Been wanting to try the pastries here for ages but we were really disappointed with the results. Looks can be deceiving.
    1) four pastries (matcha, almond, pandan, cherry & pistachio) costs $31, thats almost $8 each, really expensive.
    2) pastries were quite thick and chewy.
    3) the icing on pandan croissant was too sweet yet theres no flavour of pandan inside.
    4) pistachios didnt add much flavour in the cherry danish.
    5) matcha flavour was too subtle to detect in the pastry even though it looks impressive and the pastries were crispy.
Worst of all, we found a short strand of hair embedded inside the almond filling (see photo) & we lost appetite soon enough. Noticeably the patisserie chefs had their hair tied up in knots but maybe hairnets/hats are required in the future.
Overall, all the pastries lacked in flavour but the upside was that they were not too sweet.

Finally got to try this famous bakery in South Melbourne Market! I bought the matcha croissant, pandan flan, and cherry pistachio. The croissant was no doubt buttery and flaky, baked to perfection. But it lacked matcha flavour, the filling was red bean, which was a classic pairing for matcha. It was still really good, but I wished the matcha flavour was stronger.
The cherry pistachio was a bit too sweet for my liking, but the pistachio paste was really good. The sticky, flaky danish was perfection. The pandan flan was the star of the show. The pandan custard had a distinct pandan flavour. The perfectly baked danish filled with generous amount of pandan custard was just a perfect combo. Definitely recommend trying this one out!

Best croissants in Melbourne.. love the buttery texture of the croissants here.. compared to Lune I would still prefer the croissants at Agathe, they are crispy on the outside and moist and buttery in the inside.. the almond croissants were filled with almond butter and flakes.. however if you are unsure you wont go wrong with the plain croissants.. This is a must try at the South Melbourne markets, perfect lift me up to start the weekend.. big love!!!

A wide range of French baked goods are available here. I usually buy the plain croissant or the almond croissant out of habit whenever Im around South Melbourne Market. The last time I came here, I decided to try their pandan croissant and see whether it tasted like pandan. The bright green pandan croissant was sweeter than I expected, and there was a light pandan flavour, it tasted a tad artificial, I cant tell if they used actual pandan leaves or not. Like other croissants, the pandan croissant was served warm and it was full of buttery, crispy and airy goodness. Expect to line up on the weekends. Service is always friendly, fast and efficient. I recommend you to try their assortment of pastries and cakes as its some of the best in Melbourne.
