Took fam bam for a weekend breakfast at Aucuba. Was kinda glad the kids wake up early, so we get to Aucuba early and had the place to ourselves for a little bit before it gets way too busy.
I got a weak soy mocha while the others got coffee. I quite liked mine but we all agreed that the flavours are a bit more acidic than we preferred.
The breakfast menu is short and nothing really jumped out at me to be honest, I just ordered a mushroom and feta on toast. I was pleasantly surprised when it turned up looking gorgeous and it tasted amazing! I think when you are so used to cafes doing something different to stand out to others you forgot that sometimes eating something like mushroom, feta and toast can be so delicious and satisfying too.
Aucuba was so accommodating with our request for random stuff like: can we have eggs on toast but with croissant instead? Or can we have eggs on toast but not sourdough… can we have it with fruit toast instead? and no butter? Lol
