A tiny shop at South Melbourne Central that’s accessible from Cecil Street, blink and you’ll miss it. There’s a range of toasties and rolls, and baked goods, but the star here is the coffee. The skinny latte was excellent. Strong, full-bodied, smooth and arrived at the optimal temperature.
While there’s nothing special about the food, they are simple and delicious enough for when you merely want to grab a bite. The ham and cheese toastie was tasty, full of flavour and inexpensive. The bagels are from 5 & Dime, and I couldn’t fault them.
We also tried the Brazilian cheese scone with butter. A morsel of yumminess, that bear similarities to traditional scones but much more moist and gooey in the middle.
Lovely and down-to-earth service from the 3 fellows behind the counter. This place is indeed a hidden gem.
