Concealed in the industrial area of South Melbourne and housed in a spacious warehouse style venue, Ciel Cafe offered delicious, beautifully presented modern Australian brunch/lunch meals. We had their fried chicken burger and pancakes. The crispy, thinly battered fried chicken came with tangy lime aioli and flaky croissant bun. The pancake was soft and fluffy, served with sweet white chocolate ganache, sour mixed berries and fresh orange curd. In addition to the great food, Ciel Cafe also provided friendly service, and lovely quiet ambiance. Ciel Cafe was surely a hidden gem.

What I love: Ciel is a great lunch option is Sth Melb area without walking into the market square. Nice food and great coffee.
What I don’t like: Waiting time is getting longer and longer in last couple of months. My office is opposite so quite convenient for a quick meal break however lunch meals on average takes 15-20min, and sometimes just a coffee takes about ten-ish. Just couldn’t afford the wait.
