We had a birthday party for 46 mainly elderly people (75 to 85) music and food organised well in advanced. All went well until we got the bill,not the food part it was the alcoholic part. There were 2 other functions on at the same time with a common bar and some others were using the same bar and it is likely that we were paying for others
In contacting the owner/manager they agreed to refund $600+ and asked for my account details.I have been waiting a month and several messages and had no reply and of course no refund. Be warned and ask for a signed tab.Very disappointing.

Restaurant out back has table service on offer if that’s what you’re after, but a stint out front with some sunshine is Friday afternoon perfection. The fish & chips was exactly what my slight hangover needed!
GREATEST LITTLE HOTEL IN MELBOURNE!!. Anyone who’s thinks this place is even close to average needs their head read!…or has absolutely no idea about good quality food! Every time we have eaten here the food has been sensational and staff terrific…way above standard pub food. Best kept little secret in Melbourne…do your self a favour and get down to this place for a lazy Sunday arvo lunch with great food, wine and live music in the bar area…can’t go wrong!!
Friendly, cosy and welcoming place to eat! The staff were friendly and the food was great. Classic pub food as well as some modern specials. Will definitely be going back!

My wife and I had an amazing Wedding day on the 6th Dec, well organised and seamless. It was exactly what we expected from this great family hotel. The personalised service from Jane and her staff member Zoe really made our day. Fay’s attention to detail and warm hospitality helped make our day. Thanks The Emerald!
Great Food But Lack of Service. We have been coming here for 20 years for a once a year reunion in the bistro. The food is always great and we never leave here hungry. On our latest visit, on a quiet night, there was a lack of service. When we asked for our table, the waitress looked in the book and took off down the back of the bistro without indicating that we should follow, a bit confusing. After getting our main meals, our waitress didnt come near us to see if we wanted more drinks (she seemed to be busy talking to the other staff around the bar). When we finally got her attention and asked for the bill we were given the wrong bill. Of our meals, the Corned Silverside and the Thai Chicken Curry were delicious. One more thing, the small flies bombarding our table made dining unenjoyable.
