Stumbled upon this place when we were shopping at South Melbourne Market. This tiny little cafe had a lot to offer. I had the pulled pork dish and it was yummy. Service was brief but friendly.
Have been here several times in the morning before work. As far as coffees are concerned, giddiup does a good job in this department!
However, the service isnt what it use to be. Food and drinks used be pumped out at an alarming rate (in a good a way!).
In recent times, the food has been particularly slow to come out. Waiting 25mins for plain avocado on toast when there were 4 staff working and 3 customers inside including myself is a bit of a let down. Particularly, when the other two customers had already received what theyd ordered upon arrival.
Compliment this with their basic brekkie dishes with prices on par to other cafes that put a lot more effort into their dishes and offer larger portions, I think the horse is getting too expensive for what you get!
If the old Giddiup could trot its way back into town, I think the buzz and busyness that was will return once again!
We enjoyed very much their coffee! Their croissant was so crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. We also had a poached egg on toasts
Incredibly basic and uncomfortable decor, and very cramped inside. Paying table service prices when you have to go up and order, they don’t even bring water and napkins/ cutlery to your table. Some of the staff had a bit of an attitude. Overall weird vibe. Coffee should have been much hotter. The Reuben sandwich however was absolutely delicious and would come back just for that.
The ambience was nice and the food equally as good!! The smashed avo was delicious, with a great mix of flavours and colour!!! Highly recommend this cafe!
first time I randomly Google a cafe to walk into and this was rated highly. when I got in, it was a bit warm of a place and not too comfortable seatings but I have it a chance. I ordered the Spanish ham on ciabatta with poached egg. when it came it looks amazing and it definitely tasted great. worth revisiting but maybe not on a warmer day
We were on our way to the market and needed a pit stop and stopped in here. The menu was small and not over the top, however the service was great the food was good. We had the Beans and smoked salmon bagel. I also had a ice tea which was refreshing and not too sweet but a nice touch with the fresh fruits. Note: the place is small so seating can be an issue if it’s busy.
