Good food. Caters for everyone – not too hipster and big variety of food. Moron below me appears to be a bit of a jackass. Proper kitchen in this place. Im both an office professional and construction project manager. Its good when a place caters for everyone when youre doing food. Hipster places that sell some obscure coffee blend and premise muffins dont last long
This little cafe is hidden away down some side streets. In a few years time this place will be booming, but lots of construction going on in the area means the cafe is incredibly loud and not overly relaxing.
The problem with all the construction work is that the cafe is making a business out of catering to their core market (the tradies), while trying to be a cool hipster Melbourne cafe, complete with fashionable decor. This leaves the place seeming very confused in its identity. On the one hand, there’s a delightful cabinet filled with delicious looking sandwiches and wraps on all types of dark rye, multigrain sourdough etc, and right next to it a heater with all kinds of greasy pies, potato cakes and breakfast muffins.
I understand they are in the business to make money, and to do that you must cater to your customers needs, but it just came off as confused. Is it a cool funky inner city cafe or bulk produced tradie cafe?
The staff were friendly, and coffee was very tasty, but the place too noisy and too confused. My advice is to wait it out a couple of years until the construction has completed in the area.
I came here on a lunch break and was pleasantly surprised by a large, delicious cheese burger and fries.
The food was quite fresh and tasty, will be back to try a couple of the other options soon!
One of Melbourne’s hidden gems. In a city known for great cafes & restaurants, this one of melbourne’s best lunch destinations. I’ve eaten here more times than I care to remember & I love it every time. Great food. Great coffee. Great vibe!!
Amazing little spot in the other side of South Melbourne, Jimmy The Saint serves up delicious coffee and yummy salads and daily specials for lunch. Quaint interior that is in stark contrast to the usual hipster cafe look, this is a nice spot that for either a coffee break or a sit down cafe meal.
I’m always in the mood for a burger but am rarely left satisfied. The classic cheeseburger is simple and delicious, comes with a very generous serving of crunchy fries and is very satisfying. Jimmy the Saint is a fantastic spot with a fun selection of jaffles, addictive homemade red lentil patties and The Kilimanjaro Brownie.
