Was so keen to try this place. It’s one of those places where they think there hipstery and cool but in fact are arrogant. Disappointing service. Table next to us had complained about the food and waiter said nothing and walked off. We had the same experience. Food not as described on menu and told waiter and was ignored again. Overall bad service (know who your employing) and poor experience. Real shame!

In Short:  Nine Yards goes hard with a dining space with that can swallow dozens and an intriguing menu which admirably champions Australian native ingredients. Shunning stalwarts of the Melbourne roasting scene and a doffing of the cap to some of the finest coffee in the land from Canberra’s Ona Coffee.

I went to check out Nine Yards yesterday and was incredibly impressed. The venue was so modern, spacious and vibrant inspired by the Australian bush and was a hive of activity. The service was amazing, it was incredibly quick and the staff were so friendly and helpful.I ordered the mocha which was so smooth and creamy and had such a great taste. To eat I had the Northern Territory barramundi with caper aioli and sweet potato wedges. The fish was so fresh and delicious and the crispy skin with pepper berry salt was sublime. Those wedges were the perfect combination of crispy and crunchy on the outside and soft and sweet inside. It will be a venue I will be returning to taste more of the delicious menu.

Nine Yards is one of a new brunch place in South Melbourne, Dorcas St. It occupies a large space for group diners. Clean with neutral colour palette makes it a great atmosphere to chill and unwind on the weekend. I find they are healthier than the general brunch cafes that I’ve been to. So perfect for health-conscious individuals!
