Mrs Canuck and I stopped for a coffee and brownie while strolling down Clarendon Street. The brownie was full of chocolate and walnuts and was moist but not soggy. The service was friendly and polite.
The dessert selection on this Sunday was limited to about a dozen items but has something for everyone.
PS. They have their own clean toilets. That’s not common in this area.

Petit Tresor exudes a certain charm to it, and it seems to be quite popular with the locals and nearby office workers who either come for a leisurely lunch, or grab a bite to go. The kind and friendly service from the staffs surely plays a part too.
Calling itself a cafe and patisserie, I decided to give both its offerings a go. The cafe menu is concise and contains the classics that we all are familiar with.
The Petit Tresor’s Benedict excels in its simplicity and excellent execution. The hollandaise sauce was the star – satiny smooth and luscious. The sourdough was lightly toasted and smeared with a generous amount of butter; delicious but not good for cholesterol level I’m sure! Rounding this off was the perfectly poached eggs, crispy bacon, spicy chorizo and sauted spinach.
Unfortunately, the beautiful looking cakes failed to live up to their looks. While the flavours were spot on, the texture was rather dry. A shame because it would have been lovely otherwise.
The skinny lattes were initially fairly hot to touch and taste, but once they cooled down, they were reasonably decent and easy to drink.
