Let me start off by saying that the current reviews and pictures for Pressed Juices are still those of Organic Avenue, the previous juicery (did I make up a new word?) located at the same spot that Pressed Juices now occupies. My review is for Pressed Juices. Pressed Juices are famous for their juice cleanse packages, or what I would like to call people-less soylent green diet. You get a bundle of juices to last you 3 or 5 days, and you survive on them and just them alone. While it may float somes boat, its a resounding no from me.
Im however more than willing to purchase one or two juices to quench my thirst, as I did on a hot sunny day today. The smooth peanut butter and smooth green protein are, in my opinion, pretty stock standard in taste, very thick and filling, but $9.50 for 470ml equates to liquid fine-dining and Im not sure my bank account approves. Same goes for the slice of raw tiramisu that I bought. It was undeniably one of the nicer raw desserts I have tried, but again $9 was very steep. Why are healthy food options so expensive?
The matcha latte was the cheapest out of the bunch, but bear in mind, we are talking health food pricing, not normal pricing. It was $5.50 for a regular, which was more like a small in some cafes. Anyway, the lovely staff member recommended a coconut milk-based for the matcha latte, and with a hint of rice syrup, it was rich and creamy, with just the right amount of bitterness from the matcha. Now, that is something that I may come back for, if my bank account permits.
The juice is good however way over priced. I paid $8.50 for the zing 3 which has pineapple, pear mint and ginger. It was a delicious blend but not for the price tag.
Huge bottle of goodness. When I am around South Melbourne, I can’t help it but to grab a bottle of their green juice. So many other flavours to choose from too.
