Good veal parmigiana I had today there. Size didnt match the price paid though. Was very busy though and seen one lady that didnt get what matches her dietary requirements and without question she was sorted a new meal even though it technically was her order. Would of been a 3.5 but with that customer experience being sorted and making someones day.. you get my extra point. 4.5 overall. Well done. Friend also had a chicken dish which she was happy with too. Good pub grub overall.
Cosy local hidden away in leafy South Melbourne. Food consistently good and wide variety of wines if you’re not a beer drinker. Just the spot to while away an hour or two, with the better outdoor tables reserved for smokers, so no food!
We came here for the first time and ordered the burger and parma. Good meals..tasty and satisfying..great chips..real chicken used not factory made. Good atmosphere will come back….one of us drinks scotch and coke and we love they actually use a can of coke, big tick for that!
Came here for a function and was pretty impressed. The food platters were tasty: arancini balls, seeded sliced tuna on cucumber, skewered prawns, pork sliders, pork belly, sausage rolls were all good. I thought the customer service was good- friendly and accommodating. The open fire was nice downstairs once our function time had lapsed, and they set up another room for us to continue on. It is an old pub and so only has stairs. It would have been nice for my grandparents to be able to use a lift.
The place to go for (former South Melbourne) Swans games. Still, it does well for a sports bar with friendly staff and it’s clean. Everyone at the table had burgers that were very tasty and very large. The rest of the menu was much more fancy than typical pub food but the burger may be a sign that they do it all well.
Traditional local pub so I thought I’d keep it simple and order a porterhouse. I got a nice piece of fat with a little meat near it. Staff were friendly.
Friendly service and the presentation of the food looked fantastic. The only problem was the lack of flavour of the food. I had the American burger which was essentially a bacon cheeseburger with chips. The burger was pretty average and the chips tasted of grease. For $19 that was pretty steep I thought, especially when you can get a pretty decent lunch for half that elsewhere. Up your game chef or I won’t be back.
