  • Alice In Wonderland X Icebear

We ordered from here via Uber Eats after deciding that it would be a perfect winter warmer on a foggy Melbourne evening.
Icebear gives this restaurant a solid 5 stars, it is the best vegetarian Indian food he has had since moving down from NSW.

TRY: The Prawn Malai (for your carnivores) and the Palak Paneer! Both dishes were super fragrant and the portions were generous. The standout moment was how light they both were on the palate and didnt leave our bellies feeling weighed down and heavy.

MUST: Garlic naan, all the magical garlicky goodness – crispy, chewy and fragrant, you will fall in love with these!

SKIP: Butter naan – unfortunately missed the mark for us but if you want to, Icebear recommends throwing it in the microwave with some cheese for 30 secs and it redeems itself.

UBER EATed. Dinner for two. Ordered the Chicken Makhani, Coconut Naan, Plain Naan and a Saffron Rice. Total around $30 delivered. We didn’t finished and found this was pretty good value and tasted great too.

The Chicken Makhani, is like a Butter chicken, sweet and went great with the rice. Personally I prefer the coconut naan, it’s sweet to the taste and filling too.

Delivery time was around 30mins, this was when they just opened, so the longer wait was kind of expected.

By the way, this was the second time I ordered from this place, so would recommend this combo is anyone is craving for an Indian fix for dinner. 🙂

Reviewing this based on take away orders. If you’re looking for a flavour filled indian curry to warm you up, this is well worth checking out. The Chicken Makhani (butter chicken) is beautiful, with quality pieces of chicken through it’s rich sauce. If you don’t like spice I would recommend when placing an order to specify that, for even when selecting mild spicy, there was a wee kick to it.

I ate vegetarian and was very pleased with the result. Aloo Gobi and dal makhani were delicious. Staff very friendly and attentive, though it was a quiet night

Have been eating here for many years both eat in and take away and the food is always fresh and of a high standard with friendly service. It’s nice to be able to visit a familiar restaurant and know what you will get.

Good food!! We have some dietary requirements and they never failed to satisfy us.. Food is really very tasty. We had celebrated our Son’s bday here where everything was good but they ran out with cutlery which was not expected. They need to improve thr service too..

A bit slow, we’ve only been here for take away, and know to order well before we want our food. No delivery, not a huge drama but sometime a hassle!

Love the Somosas, the curries are nice, no vegetables in them, however, so they feel a bit too unhealthy at times
