Stopped-by for lunch this week. The guys in the office had been recommending the soup at Stove Monkey – and being a freezing cold Tuesday it seemed like a good tip. Grabbed a seat at the table in the window, which was a nice sunny spot. Ordered the potato and salmon soup. It was clearly home made, thick and creamy with a generous serve and crusty bread on the side. A great way to warm-up for lunch. I’ll be back for more soup.
Great soup, all homemade and change regularly served with tasty lightly toasted bread. Coffee ok without being great, service is genuine, no fake smiles here
Had pumpkin, barley, green apple soup with coriander yoghurt. Just awesome ! Very good owner. Only negative is the the bread with soup is not toasted but boy the soup is tasty !
BEST poached eggs I’ve ever tried! The corn pancakes match was so perfect, my partner and I cleaned the dish in under a minute! We also had the baked eggs & chorizo topped with crispy sweet potato, absolutely delicious!! The hostess was so attentive and chef was really shy as I was telling him how this meal really made my day. Definitely my new favourite brunch place in Melbourne!
A great place but the waitress was rude and it smelt like someone was smokin’ a doobie out the back. Food was good enough but not great. Wouldn’t go out of my way for it
Service pleasant and quick. Ambiance pleasant. Food: Had a soup special – and it was to die for. Quite possibly the best soup I’ve ever had.
This is my favourite breakfast place on Clarendon. When I need a quiet place to recover from a hard night that serves great comfort food and bacon-based redemption, it’s right here. Love the eggs, grilled zucchini and mushrooms.
