I have found the best club sandwich and hot chips in Melbourne!
I enjoyed my club sandwich from the Hilton. The service was excellent, you order at the counter and as promised per the menu our food arrived in 20 min. This is actually refelected as everything in our sandwich was fresh from the bacon to the perfectly cooked egg – the only small negative is I think there was not enough chicken. Our hot chips were also crunchy and delicious. For $24 this was fantastic.
Tip – highly recommend that this is shared for 2 people as this is a large serving.

Don’t judge a book by its cover – Very bland, boring from the outside – is this really a hotel????? Wow, what an interior. No staff at the door (so not sure if that was to be expected or not when I arrived). The staff were friendly, efficient, one of the easiest check-ins that I have experienced in recent months.Room was immaculate when I walked in, Wi-Fi was easy to connect (an absolute MUST for me as I have regular video conferences via my laptop as I travel for work. The bar staff we really good, friendly, knowledgeable (the test is always a French martini!!!) – though the Caffe was a bit cold – even by my Canberra standards I was cold. This could well become my new preferred Melbourne hotel for future trips – will explore in the morning to see how easy it is to walk into the city…….this will be the test (and what other restaurants are in the area). Stayed November 2015, travelled on business

Stopped here for just a coffee this morning and was extremely impressed by the cheery, friendly staff (so to the lovely person who took my order this morning- keep it up!) The service was very efficient- though it wasn’t particularly busy. The decor is casual yet classy and I like the big communal high table in the middle. Not sure about the food here however there appeared to be limited range of sandwiches/pastries on display between breakfast and lunch. Overall a nice enough place to have a coffee and relax when in the area.
