As we sat there and ate our meals from the baimarie clearly the scraps from the day, we witnessed 3 other tables order food from the menu
Disappointed
Was feeling peckish at dfo South Wharth so ordered the vegetarian dumplings ($7 for 6 dumplings) at Dumpling Dynasty. The skin of the dumplings were hard & the filling was tasteless. Had to buy chilli sauce for $0.20 to make it taste better. I dont know many Chinese restaurants who charge for chilli sauce but I guess $0.20 isnt much but even that didnt taste good.
The DFO in South Wharf is not really known for good food. To me, Dumpling Dynasty is the only ok place to eat in the entire mall. Their braised beef noodle is the super delicious but with a tradition cantonese flavour so it’s not for everyone. If it was just for this dish I would give DD a 4/5. But some of their other dishes like hainanese chicken rice aren’t great at all. Their overall consistency is all over the place so eating here is like taking part in a lottery – one day tasty af next day totally disappointing. Seb
I noticed the fish ball noodle soup on the menu & despite calling by for a dumpling indulgence decided on the soup. Healthier maybe, & very tasty considering it was a fast food outlet
