Perfect place to enjoy the sun with so beautiful water views. Located at one of the most stunning and beautiful sots by the water.
We went on a Saturday for some lunch and drinks, the sun was out and it was just a perfect place to be at.
I ordered the Iron Barque for cocktail, perfect blend of Whiskey and marmalade. For food we ordered two share plates which included the Charred baby Octopus and spiced Lamb ribs. The octopus was my favourite it was charred to perfection and the potatoes amped up the taste.
For mains we got fish burger which was served with chips. The fillet was moist and delicious.
Excellent customer service and the food was on point. A place that I will be going back for more.
Its has a pretty big outdoor area which is perfect for larger groups or any celebration lunches/dinners.

What a nice place to enjoy the beautiful spring weather overlooking the waters. The bountiful indoor and outdoor area is perfect for kicking back with some food and a couple of drinks. You will need to place the order inside and staff will bring out the food when ready. For our group, we had a few entree to share and our own mains. The servings is not very big and can set you back a fair bit. Overall the food was nice and satisfying but could be improved; the pork belly was tender but the skin was a little salty while the chicken wings coating was a bit dry.

    Review:
Packed on a Saturday, we were seated behind the restaurant. However with the expectation that you would go up to the bar and order, all you need to do is remember your table number!!

Fried egg came out a little cold, but the tater tots were warm enough. A fun mexican vibed dish, the salty crunchiness from the tots with the softness of the pulled pork, the ‘grounded’ black beans and the bright lime mayo came together in a decent dish that made the eating experience enjoyable.

The pulled pork was a little too chewy for me though 🙁 .

Somehow, one of the cashiers stuffed up during the time I was there. This meant half of our table didn’t get food for a good 45 minutes. When we flagged down a waitress, she was able to locate our food but the food was brought out cold.
One of my table members requested his to be redone because who could eat such cold, hardened food? Luckily, the dish that came out made his experience go from a C score to an A!
They also comped their coffee for the ridiculous wait time and the cold food as an apology.

The Boatbuilders Yard served Modern Australian cuisine in a modern setting with a great view of the wharf. The meals we tried were pretty good, very much typical modern Australian. It was a great group dinner/drinks venue also as it was quite spacious inside.

I had lunch at BB and very much appreciated their new menu. Its so much more extensive now it made it hard to chose. The lamb shoulder, brisket and burger were all in contention but wagging burger won out (the fish burger intrigued me too though!)

Really delicious stuff, a great improvement on their previous, far more limited offerings

I’ve eaten here plenty of times given I used to work in South Wharf and it’s a really lovely spot when the sun is shining. The super salad with poached chicken is always a good lunch option and sitting outside by the water meant I never wanted to go back to the office. Have also had many a post work drink lazing on the deck chairs (sadly no cocktails available but they do have a decent sparkling offering). Order at the bar it’s a pretty casual affair so no table service

Good location right behind south wharf, plenty of seating however food here is average..
Coffees were ok, and the brownie was a bit too moist.. probably not a good spot for coffee but good for lunch or dinner..
