We just happen to spot this little place on the way to Woolies to do some shopping
Had a Toastie with cheese and tomato and a coffee all for $9 ! The lady was lovely and we really enjoyed our mid morning snack
Been in on 3 occassions and customer service has been poor each time. Products are average at best, and the rude service is the nail in the coffin. Go to the markets instead, 50m down the road!
Bought bread, honestly this is not handmade, and it wasnt good at all. moreover,it was Very expensive for what it is… I wont be back. Looks better than what it actually is.
Can’t believe how rude and abrupt one of the staff members were. I walked out of the store because of this. Another more junior staff member appeared to be friendly….the others can learn from her. For now, you’ve lost a local customer.
Awesome handmade bread on Ezitt street Prahran. Amazed that they have the traditional English meat Pie and delicious fresh dough..reasonable price and will definitely grab more bread after doing my grocery at Wollies. Owner didn’t like me taking photos and was told off. Better ask her prior to any photo shooting..
This is a very cute independent bakery, a few metres away from the Prahran Markets. It has a great selection of traditional bread loaves, baguettes, mini buns, bagels, pastries and prepared rolls. Their breads go from the sourdough chewy type to the fluffy brioche type.
I have tried quite a few things from there. Overall, the pastries are just OK, nothing remarkable nor better than those in nearby bakeries. However, their breads are really good. Except for one case, their breads are compact inside, no bubble air, thick and heavy because they have been kneaded, prepared and baked properly. I especially like their multi-grain and brioche buns, but honestly, all the breads I have tried are good or very good.
I have never found their prepared rolls appealing, especially at those prices. Nothing you cannot prepare at home yourself if you buy one of their baguettes.
The main downside is the price of the bread. Not really your daily bread if you have a hungry family to feed. Loaves go from 6 to 8 bucks.
A suggestion. I don’t expect small bakeries to label their breads as mass produced breads are for sure, but it would be great including the percentage of each type of flour used beside the list of ingredients. It would cost nothing and would be just right.
Service is courteous but matter of fact. However, I have been the shop attendants being very friendly with regulars.
Pastries, 3 stars.
Breads, 4 or 4.5 depending on which one,
There is something about this place that I could not just walk pass without stopping in.
Love all the danishes here specially the escargot here is one my all time fav but too bad they sells out really quickly.
