First came here about 3-4 years ago and it still remains to be one of my favourite cafes in Melbourne. The menu has obviously changed a bit, but the food still remains pretty much perfect, loved the sticky date pancakes! Wasn’t overly sweet, just right. The atmosphereis also really great. Feels chill, open and also chic. Need to come back here more often 🙂

Lovely little cafe, but there was no mention of a public holiday surcharge (and I thought penalty rates had been abolished, so not sure what that’s about – I REALLY hope it is actually passed onto the staff, as they deserve it) till I was well and truly done and headed up to the counter to pay. Poached eggs and bacon were good. Not a bad option in the area, but there really needs to be some shade provided for us hound owners who are relegated to the outdoor section. Sweating it out by the street with no shade wasn’t exactly pleasant, and it was only about 25 degrees.

EDIT: my friend got food poisoning from here after the meal! 🙁 it was all shed eaten that day
Came as a group of 4 to try it out and were really disappointed with our experience. Theyre usually busy and you will have to wait to be seated – luckily it was only about a 20-30 min wait for us. But not sure as to why theyre always so busy when food, drink and service were all below average.
The waitresses were either rude or they seemed out of it; walked right past with their heads high or didnt make eye contact or show signs they were listening to you when ordering or wanting to ask something. Only one seemed to know what she was doing.
The table ordered a flat white, mocha, chai latte and cloudy apple juice for drinks; and none of us were happy with them. My apple juice was a tiny volume for the price, and was slammed down onto the table when brought out to us, with the waitress immediately walking off afterwards. The chai latte was just milk foam with no hint of chai whatsoever aside from the powder on top, mocha was off, and flat white was below average.
For food we ordered the burger, club chicken sandwich, veggie breakfast (+bacon) and kale salad. It took about 45-50 minutes to arrive, and considering the price point and the time we spent waiting for it, were pretty disappointing. The star of the entire meal were the waffle fries that accompanied the sandwich and burger… I have to point out the fact that my poor vegetarian friend was severely disappointed by the kale salad. The balance of the dish and flavours were off, and it had a sauce that did the opposite of tying everything together. She had a few forkfuls, tried to save it with the salt and pepper but alas could not salvage it.
Would not go back; location is the only thing this place probably has going for it.

Chilli scrambled eggs wasnt spicy at all. Though an healthy amount, it lacked flavour with no form of protein(bacon) to give the dish a lift. The pumpkin was out of place and gave the dish an unnecessary sweet undertone.
The side of hollandaise tasted weird.
French toast was alright but cant compare to ones from Legacy.
There was confusion over the bill and nearly overcharged us 🙁

Great coffee and great food! Always stop by here for a coffee whenever I am in the area. Also the coffee in the cone concept was great. Definitely provided a new twist on the Melbourne coffee experience.!

The best local a girl could find. Exceptional coffee tailored with exceptional friendly service. Amazing food options both healthy and for those with the sweet tooth. Great atmosphere and vibe. My favourite South Yarra cafe!
