Side street is a new vintage cafe just off chapel street. Their concept is home made food and homewares in an atypical French atmosphere. With a fire place in one corner, a record player in another and some vintage outdoor seating, this cafe certainly is atypical with a nice vibe. We ordered the cheese platter with some accompaniments (olives, cherry tomatoes etc) and it was simply divine. The bread (baked and drizzled in honey and Parmesan) is simply divine- so much so that we ordered a second serve!! They have a beautiful wine and beer list and is the perfect place to kick back and enjoy a cozy atmosphere.

Just had a great lunch at the eclectic Side Street cafe. They make a great Croque Madame, and they make a delicious vegetarian version on request. The French speaking staff are very friendly and the out of the way location makes a nice break from the bustle of other Chapel Street cafes.

I’m not a drinker but clive the owner gave me some good advice on the beer over 20 to chose from golden ale to the dark stuff. The Panini was just what i needed. the fire kept me warm. On a winters day like today JUST WHAT I NEEDED.
Next time I’m going to get the recipe for the salad dressing. Thax

I tried the Croque Monsieur and really liked it.
You can also ask for a vegetarian one, that’s what my friend did and he was no disappointed by the result 🙂
The atmosphere is really nice, you can do some homewares shopping too and that’s a good point.
I am pretty sure I will come back, thank you !

Had an amazing time in this new Cafe on Chapel St. Hard to see from the main street but worth it.
Vintage vibes, good atmosphere, I liked it.
Plus their Cheese and Meat Platter was amazing, can’t wait to go back…
